Bought it today at Kinguin, wasn't paying £15 for it off Steam. Well, all I can say is that it's a bit different to the onlive version. Mainly as I played it with gfx settings cranked up, and my card isn't the most powerful. In saying that, the framerate was still visibly poor at a low setting, so I might have to check out why.
Onlive's version seems more sanitised, for want of a better word. I'd say it's much like any other PC MP FPS, whereas the Onlive version does have a more "console" feel to it. There's a lot of stuff onlive doesn't have either - the tanks are excruciatingly slow on the PC version, though that should get better as I level up. The M110 CAN kill with one shot, while the Scar-H seems far more spray n pray than the OL version, though i've yet to unlock steady aim to see if it can still be used to 'snipe' across a map.
Played a few games and didn't know you were admin on the server dan! Good to see a name I recognise on there.
I'm going to have to get levelling up!

i got all my gfx settings on MAX i never see much of a prob. what card you using? very short test i did other day (vid not best quality due to bandicam taking alot of cpu so had to limit to 35fps. now with the tanks thats all about vehicle abilities (in the ammo section) personally i always get a fast heli or LAV. (the basic tanks are quite easy to destroy),People tend to like my server more due to the no bullshit or rule breaking i have in force. They break the rules they get a week ban. simple. ow and for anyone else not wanting to buy via steam CJS CD KEYS has it for half the price www.cjs-cdkeys.com/products/Homefront%3A-Resist-Edition-CD-Key-for-Steam.html

It's a 2gb Asus GeForce GT 630, it struggled with GTA IV on high settings too. It's a fairly cheap card but i don't see why it shouldn't handle Homefront. System has 8gb ram and an Intel i5 too.
set it to low and it was fine, though frame rate visibly dropped after 5 mins, just not as much as before.
the card doesn't have a cooling fan, only a heatsink whick is oddly shaped so i might see about removing it and adding a more normal sink with a fan, in case its too hot.
still, won a round so not all bad.
didn't like spawning in Angel Island and being picked off with a drone, snipers or two helis surrounding the spawn point - can team spawning be changed? Was an absolute liberty.

Drones should not be at spawn point any time. nor should heli's if this ever happens i will take swift action, re team spawning nope sadly not. its limited server side. Part is controlled by the Bot

I've added a second exhaust fan to the PC, fingers crossed that does the trick.

Downloaded a few tools to monitor the cpu and gpu etc. It seems to be that the CPU happily plods along at 48 degrees when playing HF, never above 53. The GPU sits at about 42ish, highest 45 (for comparison - using a web browser right now, it's at 30.)
Then, the GPU loads all drop from 99/100% to 20% when the frame rate goes. That seems to be the main cause of the problem. Why that is happening though is beyond me.

Not fixed it yet. So far i've tried:
Using lowest GFX settings Turning off VSync Forcing DX9, turning off Dx10 Running in XP mode Changing a host of ini settings, as recommended on various sites (there's a list of stuff to help get it working, nothing does) Changing Win7 power settings to Max performance Changing power settings of CPU to force it to run between 80-90% (bottleneck fix) Changing PSU Reinstalling drivers, removing them, installing beta drivers, removing and replacing with normal ones
Still, I get 10 minutes gaming then the GPU output drops to 20% and the FPS of the game drops. It's still usable, but as you can imagine it means i'm at a huge disadvantage when playing others. Bad onlive visual lag is easier to contend with.
Saints Row 4 works on high settings, as does Grid 2 and GTA IV. No FPS drop at all. So i'm utterly lost as to what it might be, the CPU bottleneck was my last hope.
