I've had a Nokia Lumia for a while now (a budget one, must be 520 or something) and it's probably the best phone OS i've used.
However. The apps on it are utter bollocks.
Any recommendations? Games wise or just in general. Sports, productivity, websites etc. I know Kindle fire is bad enough, but Windows is awful in comparison to iOS and Android for stuff.

I'm some what of an apple fan boy so I recommend an iphone. Great greats and great app. I have an ipad too. I use it for music apps and games. I was actually using it as the brains for my midi drum set yesterday I was utter speechless how well it worked. Better then some dedicated midi hardware I have. Ios App Store also has a lot of sale and free give always.

Bought the wife an ipad for her Christmas. I finished work and came home (via my mum's and the pub) with her three gifts.
Of course, there was a massive pile of stuff for me.
So she looked at the three gifts, shook and held them. Couldn't believe i'd made so little effort.
Gave me abuse that if i'd just bought her perfume... (which she thought the ipad was)... she'd kill me. It went on hours.
Midnight arrived, and I was getting apologies all night when I told her to open it. lol
As a phone, it's a great thing. Especially on a budget. But no real dropbox is a pain, and things like that.

There's unofficial apps for google drive and dropbox, google drive doesn't work and the dropbox app isn't quite great. Works, but not a simple experience

Developers seem to put less effort into WP due to market share. They know more people will be using their Android and iOS offerings, so it's natural really. The problem is that nobody wants a Windows Phone because the lack of apps make it less attractive. It's an ongoing cycle that people need to break. Who actually steps forward and breaks the cycle (the app developers or the consumers) is the question.
